Also, I feel like A LOT more can go wrong with a slot-loading drive, even though my experience with tray-loading drives are usually 5+ years and the rubber band dries up which makes it difficult to eject the tray. Feb 23, 2013 · hello personally I like slot load optical drive than tray load, i think they r modern & stylish. im looking for a blu ray burner only thing i found is Unable to eject CD from slot load drive (no tray) - dell.com 3. CD drive whirs and clicks and then keeps spinning for about 15 seconds and then stops spinning. This drive does not have a tray like other CD drives, it is just a slot load where you feed the CD directly into the machine. And I can't find a paper clip hole to try and manually eject.
